PLASTIC WASHING PROCESS

You may need to know

For a complete PET bottle cleaning line, breaking up the bulk of compacted, packed PET bottles is the first step in the entire washing line. We usually use the Debaler Machine for this process.

The waste plastic bottles enter the Trommel Screen, and during the rotation of the trommel, the debris (glass, metal, sand/soil) attached to the waste will fall out of the screen to increase the efficiency of the subsequent equipment and reduce the loss of the subsequent equipment.

When the PET bottle enters the Label Remover Machine, the sharp, serrated claws inside the label remover tear the label off the bottle as it moves forward, achieving the initial removal of the label. This process can remove at least 95% of the labels.

After a simple treatment, the PET bottles are transferred by a Screw Conveyor to the Plastic Shredder for cutting and shredding.

Typically they are cut into flakes of 12-18 mm size to meet your different PET flake usage scenarios.

After crushing, the flakes will be further washed. They are transferred to the Float Sink Tank, where the PET sinks to the bottom of the float sink  tank and is pushed by the screw to the next process.

The flakes with lower density (e.g. PP, PE bottle cap flakes, PVC label flakes) will float.

The drying process of PET flakes is mainly done by Centrifugal Dewatering Machine and Thermal Dryer.

After the flakes are thrown out a large amount of water by centrifugal force, they enter the thermal dryer. The flakes move along the hot air-filled stainless steel tube of the thermal dryer and the dried flakes are finally transferred through the Zig-zag Label Remover for further collection or reprocessing.

 

Through the above series of steps, you have collected a large, pure PET flake.
You can then use the PET Pelletizing Line to process the flakes into PET granules for sale or for other applications such as injection molding.

You can also use the washed PET flakes directly in the production and manufacture of polyester staple fibers.
